Meet Dr. Greg Haarman

I am passionate about dentistry and the transformative power of a healthy smile. My journey as a dentist has been incredibly fulfilling, and I feel privileged to have the opportunity to make a positive impact on my patients' lives every day.

My patients are at the heart of everything I do. I love cultivating personal relationships and learning not just about someone's teeth, but about them as a person.

I was raised near Strasburg, IL, and graduated from Stewardson-Strasburg in 1993. I received my bachelor’s degree in biochemistry from the University of Illinois in 1999 before attending Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine in Alton, graduating in 2003. There, I graduated Magma Cum Laude and is a member of OKU, a dental honors fraternity. I continued as a resident at a trial dental program at St. Louis University Children’s Hospital prior to returning to the Effingham area to practice general dentistry. In 2006, I moved to Decatur and opened Central Illinois Smiles.

I dedicate myself to continuing to learn and grow in my dental knowledge so I can help each patient to the best of my ability. I am involved in the American Dental Association, Illinois State Dental Society, and the Decatur Dental Society, serving in many roles, including Vice President. I am also an active member of the Taylorville Kiwanis Club.
